SUMMARY OF EXPERIENCE

The primary focus of my nearly 30 years of private practice was civil litigation at both the trial and appellate levels.  I have represented plaintiffs and defendants in many types of cases including personal injury, product liability, medical malpractice, commercial litigation, construction defect litigation, insurance litigation, property damage, and real estate disputes.

In my first year of practice, I participated in four jury trials. I have since participated in dozens of jury trials as well as trials to the court and other evidentiary hearings.  In my first year as a lawyer, I argued my first appellate case and have now represented parties in over 100 cases in the Oregon appellate courts, the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, and in the Washington Court of Appeals (admitted pro hoc vice).

My practice has also included sitting as an arbitrator in hundreds of circuit court cases and underinsured motorist cases, serving as a pro tem judge,  serving as a mediator in cases pending in trial courts, and as part of the Oregon Court of Appeals Appellate Mediation Program.
